Utah football turns focus to Weber State as depth chart nearly settled

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah football is all business now as the program transitions from fall camp to season mode.

On Monday, athletes returned to school and the focus of practice shifted to that of the team’s first game of the season, Weber State. The only remaining question, though, is how the two-deep depth chart will shape up coming into the season.

Head coach Kyle Whittingham said Monday that about 95 percent of the positions are settled and that there are only a few players “jockeying” for position. One of the biggest areas of need, he said, was finding an eighth or ninth offensive lineman as junior Johnny Capra has been unable to practice all season due to injury.
