Utah continues trend of 2nd-half collapse

SALT LAKE CITY — Entering Saturday's game, the Utah-Oregon matchup was destined for a blowout. Oregon had only won three games, and its defense was one of the worst in the Pac-12.

But someone forgot to tell Utah that.

Call it the game 11 curse or a trap game. Whatever it was, Utah beat itself in a familiar situation: offense couldn’t find the end zone and the defense gave up big plays in the passing game.

Oregon failed to do anything special other than allow Royce Freeman to do what he does best and to keep the game close, and Utah obliged.
