SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s defense is taking shape for another strong season on the backs of an experienced and multifaceted defensive line and secondary.
The linebacker position group, though, is the least experienced on the field and has the least amount of certainty surrounding the group. Losing last season’s starters Gionni Paul and Jared Norris, who were arguably the best tandem at the position in school history, are tough shoes to fill.
However, linebacker coach Justin Ena said he’s “confident” in the group of players fighting for the job and the depth at the position.
“I am confident because if they have the will to learn and to play ball, they’re going to be just fine,” Ena said.
