The form to which is referring is what got him on the Wooden list: Poeltl entered conference play as the nation's leader in field goal percentage near 70 percent. While his season average still leads the Pac-12, he's taking a serious dip in conference play and especially lately: He's only shooting 9 for 26 in the last three games.
Poeltl said his sprained ankle is no longer bothering him, and that appears to be showing up in practice. Coach Larry Krystkowiak said Poeltl has been playing "better than he was [before] he got hurt," and that's a key for the whole team's performance.
