It may surprise some to know that Utah entered the contest as the top free throw shooting team in the conference, hitting 73.2 percent in the first 13 games. Stanford is the last-place team in free throw shooting, and the Cardinal didn't do well (14 for 25), but it was better overall.
The crunch-time fashion in which Utah missed its free throws was surprising as well: Jakob Poeltl, Jordan Loveridge and Brandon Taylor combined to miss Utah's final seven attempts at the stripe, including five in regulation that could've won the game.
"I'll put my money on Brandon and Jordan any day," Krystkowiak said.
