Opposing Coach • With three straight mediocre seasons for Washington, one might think it was looking dire for Lorenzo Romar when a number of players decided to get out of dodge — including star point guard Nigel Williams-Goss. But the UW coach signed a significant recruiting class and right now is 5-1 in the murderous Pac-12, which is arguably the surprise of the season (along with USC). One of the guys considered a gentleman of the game, Romar is three wins away from No. 450 at Washington, and he's got 628 wins in his coaching career.
