SEATTLE, Wash.- On the first day of the Husky Classic, the Utah track and field team competed well with three athletes competing in the 5,000-meter run. A handful of athletes also competed at the Don Kirby Elite, in Albuquerque, N.M., where they recorded some impressive performances.
In Seattle, the Utes had three athletes compete in the 5,000-meter run for the first time this season, all recording times close to their personal bests. Junior Shaylen Crook led this group after recording a time of 17:21.17 to claim 59th. Senior Kate Stringfellow finished second for the Utes and 64th overall with a time of 17:25.
