SportsBeat: BYU retains the Wagon Wheel; Utah falls to No. 9 Colorado

SALT LAKE CITY — The college football regular season wrapped up in Utah on Saturday night with the battle for the Old Wagon Wheel in Provo.

BYU topped Utah State 28-10, but not without a little in-state rivalry drama, an injury to a Cougar star quarterback, and the return of BYU’s all-time leading rusher.

Former Utah defensive lineman Christian Cox and BYU linebacker David Nixon break down the Cougars’ win over the Aggies in the regular-season finale for both teams, which included another slow start for BYU and big defensive plays by Fred Warner and Michael Shelton, Jamaal Williams’ 131-yard day and another touchdown for Tanner Mangum in a season where we didn’t know how much he would play.
