SALT LAKE CITY — It was a loaded weekend of college football in the sports' return to the airwaves this weekend, and BYU, Utah and Utah State all picked up wins over Nebraska, Michigan and Southern Utah, respectively.
The Utes and Aggies kicked off Thursday night, while BYU came from behind to snap Nebraska's 29-year winning streak in home-openers at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon on backup quarterback Tanner Mangum's 42-yard touchdown pass to Mitch Mathews with no time on the clock.
Michigan and Jim Harbaugh's khakis were the talk of the national media as they rolled into Salt Lake City, but Utah's defense controlled the game early, then put it away for good on Justin Thomas' pick-six in the fourth quarter.
