SALT LAKE CITY - Utah shortstop Anissa Urtez has been named the College Sports Madness Pac-12 Softball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance this past weekend at the Mary Nutter Classic.
Urtez batted .565 in six games this weekend, leading the team in hits (13) and runs (6) while racking up a .609 slugging percentage. The Utes went 4-2 on the weekend, losing to No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 1 Florida.
This season, the junior leads Utah with a .439 batting average, 15 runs scored and four doubles. She is second on the squad with 12 RBI and leads the team in fielding assists with 46.
