Attempting to redeem itself, the University of Utah softball team headed to California to compete against Stanford on Friday, March 31-April 2. Fortunately, the Utes didn’t have a repeat weekend after falling to Oregon, and they completed a sweep against the Cardinal.
“We came and did what we wanted to do,” said head coach Amy Hogue. “It is so tough to win games in this conference, and I’m really proud of what my team was able to accomplish this weekend. Every win is a big one.”
In the first game of the three-day series, Utah had a strong start to the opener in the first inning when senior Hannah Flippen singled, stole second and then ran home after a single from senior Anissa Urtez.
