LEXINGTON, Ky. - Utah Softball became the first team in program history to win its first two games at a NCAA Regional with a 3-0 victory over No. 9 Kentucky.
Sophomore Katie Donovan picked up where classmate Miranda Viramontes left off yesterday, silencing the bats of Utah’s opponent.
Donovan picked up her 19th win of the season and in 13 innings pitched this season against the Wildcats, has allowed just one earned run. She faced the minimum 18 batters through six innings today before two UK players reached in the seventh.
Viramontes struck out the final batter for her second save of the season.
