EUGENE, Ore. - Utah Softball went for the series win this evening at No. 3 Oregon, but dropped the finale, 3-2.
The pitching and defense shown in the series by the Utes was exceptional. Utah turned four double plays today and held a Duck team averaging almost eight runs a game to 10 total in three contests.
Hailey Hilburn started and threw two innings while Katie Donovan, who pitched a complete game last night, entered and threw four innings in relief. Unfortunately, she also suffered the loss and fell to 18-10 despite allowing just two runs and striking out three.
