PASADENA, Calif. — Utah running back Joe Williams nearly broke the internet during the Utes’ 52-45 shootout with UCLA (3-5, 1-4 Pac-12) at the Rose Bowl Saturday.
Williams ran wild against the Bruins, rushing for a school-record 332 yards and four touchdowns in his second game back from a 27-day retirement. Williams averaged 11.4 yards per carry, and social media was impressed.
All around, the game wasn’t what anyone expected. To start, it was delayed due to the Rose Bowl forgetting to put pylons on the field — cue #PylonGate — but once that was sorted out, the Utes started getting to business.
