SALT LAKE CITY — Both sides of the ball came together for Utah as it annihilated San Jose State 54-16 to finish non-conference play on Saturday.

“Coach (Kyle) Whittingham and his staff have built an incredible program here,” said San Jose State head coach Brent Brennan, who’s competed against Utah the last seven years with either Oregon State or San Jose State. “It’s impressive how they continue to put really good football teams on the field that just continue to be outstanding defensively.”

The Utes’ defensive line held the Spartans to just 30 total rushing yards. San Jose State (1-3) had two first-half rushing yards and 14 through the third quarter.
