SALT LAKE CITY — Utah freshman Both Gach scored the team’s first 8 points as the Utes took an early lead on the road against No. 19 Kentucky. But the Wildcats would go on a quick 15-4 run to claim a lead in the first half that would never be challenged.

It was all Gach for the Utes Saturday, who scored 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting in a rare start for the young forward. Behind the freshman’s effort, Utah came out aggressive to claim an early 10-2 lead. But 10 first-half turnovers and poor first-half shooting (41.4 percent) doomed Utah in a 88-61 loss to the Wildcats.
