SALT LAKE CITY — One fun upshot of the political season: there's a lot of polling going on around Utah right now. As pollsters survey the state for their political preferences, they also occasionally put in some more fun questions that reveal how the state thinks about the other, less crucial contests going on in the world.
Take, for example, the new UtahPolicy.com/Dan Jones and Associates poll, released Thursday. When they asked a statistically significant sample of likely voters about their favorite team, 27 percent said BYU football, 20 percent said the Utah Jazz, 18 percent said University of Utah football, 7 percent chose Real Salt Lake.
