SALT LAKE CITY — With the college basketball regular-season dwindling down, BYU and Utah do not appear to have much chance of making the NCAA tournament.
To date, both teams have failed to meet their respective expectations. As it stands, the only path to the NCAA tournament is gaining an automatic berth by winning their conference tournament next month in Las Vegas.
For the Cougars and Utes, the situation seems hopeless. At this point, both teams are more likely to play in the NIT – maybe even against each other – than to make the NCAA tournament.
