• Everyone knows the Pac-12 fared poorly in the men's basketball tournament — but how much will it cost? I wanted to point out this story by Mercury News columnist Jon Wilner from last week about how much money the Pac-12 lost despite getting a record seven teams in the tournament. With a 3-6 record in the opening weekend of the Big Dance, the Pac-12 missed out on a lot of money, since every game the conference plays in is worth roughly $265,000 per year for six years.
