Utah secured a big commitment last week from 6’ 4”, 316 pound 2017 offensive guard Orlando Umana. The three-star guard from Sacramento (Calif.) Grant Union was high school teammates with current Utah freshman offensive lineman Darrin Paulo, and the same high school where former Utah running back Devontae Booker went. This is a huge get for Utah, as he had several Pac-12 programs recruiting him hard. Many thought that UCLA or Washington was his likely destination. Utah has done well recruiting Sacramento in the last few years, now with three commitments from powerhouse Grant High School. Umana is the second offensive line commit in Utah’s 2017 class along with American Fork (Utah) American Fork offensive tackle Michael Richardson, who also committed to Utah last week.
