The Utah softball team has come a long way since joining the Pac-12, and now sitting at No. 14 in the country, the Utes upset the No. 1 team in the country for the first time in program history, by topping Arizona 6-3 on Friday, giving Arizona just their 2nd loss of the season. The Utes led wire-to-wire in the game, and jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after four innings, and were able to hold off the Wildcats, who scored their 3 runs in the final two innings.
Utah pitcher Miranda Viramontes improved to 11-1 with the big win after throwing a season-high 118 pitches while allowing just one extra base-hit.
