SAN FRANCISCO - Utah sophomore Jakob Poeltl has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for a third time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
Poeltl is coming off a 29-point, 10-rebound double-double effort in Utah’s 80-75 overtime victory at Washington on Sunday. The Vienna, Austria, native was 8-of-14 from the field, but more impressively, the big man drained 13-of-16 from the free throw line. He scored eight of his 29 points in the overtime period, sinking a lay-up early and then draining all six free throw attempts, which included making all four of his free throw attempts in the final 10 seconds.
