SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Sophomore forward/center Jakob Poeltl earned Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after averaging a double-double in a pair of Utah victories this week, the league office announced on Monday.
Poeltl averaged 14.5 points and pulled down 10.5 boards in Utah’s pair of wins over Savannah State and No. 7-ranked Duke. He scored 10 points and had seven rebounds in limited minutes on Wednesday as Utah downed Savannah State by 46 points. Poeltl opened the contest against Duke scoring eight of Utah’s first 10 points before finishing the afternoon with 19 points and a career-high 14 boards in the upset victory.
