Per Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune, junior linebacker Uaea Masina is choosing to retire from football due to injuries. A three-star recruit coming out of Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton HS, Masina has shown flashes of potential at Utah, but he was frequently slowed by injuries. He missed most of the 2014 season after suffering a season-ending wrist injury against Fresno State. He also suffered injuries in both 2013 and 2015 as well. He is the older brother of USC linebacker Osa Masina (who was a five-star recruit). Masina only recorded tackles in two games in 2015, with two against Oregon and four against USC.
