Coach Kyle Whittingham closed Tuesday's scrimmage, the second scrimmage of the fall, to the media, fans, almost everyone except coaches and players. The program does this about once a year, as Coach Whitt alluded to earlier this week, but it is always a bit strange to have a closed scrimmage, with no stats shared.
However, Coach Whittingham did release a statement on the scrimmage overall, and here it is:
"It was a productive session today. We ran about 90 plays and accomplished what we wanted as far as the situational work. One primary objective for today was to get everybody reps and get another step closer to defining who is ready to contribute this season.
