Jones-Perry, Miller help No. 14 BYU women's volleyball edge No. 16 Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Veronica Jones-Perry had a match-high 25 kills, and McKenna Miller added 15 kills, as 14th-ranked BYU women’s volleyball edge rival Utah, 16-25, 25-13, 25-17, 20-25, 18-16 in a five-set thriller Thursday night in the Huntsman Center.

Alohi Robins-Hardy distributed 28 assists for BYU (9-1), and Mary Lake collected 23 digs for the Cougars, who bounced back after a loss to Baylor last week in Hawaii.

Former Brighton High star Dani Barton led the 16th-ranked Utes with 15 kills, and Adora Anae added 13 kills for Utah (8-2).

BYU returns home Friday night against in-state foe Weber State, followed by a short trip to Utah Valley at 7 p.
