Jakob Poeltl named Pac-12 Player of the Week for 3rd time

SALT LAKE CITY — Sophomore center Jakob Poeltl has been named the Pac-12 player of the week after Utah swept the two Washington schools last week.

Poeltl helped Utah in its first-ever road sweep since joining the Pac-12, averaging 21.5 points on 60 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 13-of-16 shooting at the free throw. Against Washington Sunday, Poeltl scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds and four assists in Utah's 80-75 overtime win.

The honor is the third time this season that Poeltl has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week. He is the only athlete in the conference to have been given the award three times this season.
