SALT LAKE CITY — In heartbreaking fashion, Utah failed to convert inside the red zone in the final seconds of the game to spoil California’s homecoming.
With 14 seconds left to play in the game, Utah couldn’t punch it with one yard to go in three attempts. As a result, Utah suffers its first loss of the season. The following is a grading of Utah’s performance Saturday night.
Offensively, it wasn’t Utah’s best game. But considering that starting center J.J. Dielman, and starting receivers Tim Patrick and Cory Butler-Byrd were missing from the lineups, Utah lived up to the next-man-up mentality and got some production in the passing game.
