Former Utah deputy athletic director backs out of new job at Montana State

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The deputy athletic director at the University of Utah, who last week was named athletic director at Montana State University, has backed out of the job.

MSU President Waded Cruzado said Kyle Brennan told her Monday that he was concerned about finding affordable housing and moving his children to new schools. Cruzado told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1YjVbOH ) that Brennan also told her taking the job "didn't feel right."

Brennan was introduced on May 2 as the successor to Peter Fields, whose contract wasn't renewed after 14 years.

Cruzado said it would be an understatement to say she was disappointed.
