Capping off an eventful Sunday was a report that former Cal defensive end Sione Sina will transfer to play for Utah.
We can confirm that. Sina graduated from Cal with a degree in sociology and will use his final season of eligibility at Utah, deepening a rotation that includes Hunter Dimick, Jason Fanaika, Kylie Fitts and Pita Taumoepenu.
Originally from Elk Grove, Calif., the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Sina was a standout at the College of San Mateo before spending two seasons in Berkeley. He redshirted in 2013 and played in just one game in 2014, limited by injury.
