Daniels, Zamora to not return to Utah basketball program

SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah basketball program announced that two players will not be returning to the team for the 2017-18 season.

Head coach Larry Krystkowiak announced Friday that freshman guard Devon Daniels and junior guard JoJo Zamora will no longer be on the team and that there are “certain responsibilities and expectations that are critical in being a member of our program.” Krystkowiak added that he wished the players well in their future.

Krystkowiak suspended Daniels on Feb. 23 after “conduct detrimental to the team” before allowing him to return to play in Utah’s only game in the Pac-12 Tournament and in its one NIT game.
