SALT LAKE CITY — Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham announced Tuesday a partial reinstatement for senior wide receiver Cory Butler-Byrd.
Whittingham said Butler-Byrd is now allowed to participate in practices and team activities but is not allowed to compete in games for the time being. However, Whittingham added that there is no timetable for his return.
Butler-Byrd was suspended indefinitely on the first day of fall camp stemming from an incident on campus in July where he damaged a campus police vehicle and a window to the police station. Butler-Byrd appeared in court Monday, entering a guilty plea in abeyance relating to criminal mischief misdemeanor charges.
