A surprising rout generated solid numbers on FOX over the weekend.
The Utah/Oregon college football game drew a 2.1 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, up 11% from West Virginia/Oklahoma last year (1.9), up 62% from Arizona State/Stanford in 2013 (1.3), and the network’s highest overnight of the season (five telecasts).
The Utes’ 42-point blowout nearly matched competing coverage of UCLA/Arizona on ABC, which was the site of ESPN’s College Gameday (2.2).
TCU/Texas Tech scored a 1.9 overnight earlier in the day, the second-highest overnight on FOX this season. There was no comparable window last year.
