BYU jumps to No. 19/22, Utah to No. 21/21 in latest polls

SALT LAKE CITY — The state of Utah has two nationally-ranked teams for the first time since the 2009 season.

The BYU Cougars jumped into the Associated Press Top 25 Poll with a splash at No. 19 and the Amway USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 22 Sunday following the Cougars win over then-No. 20 Boise State in dramatic fashion late in the game.

The ranking is the first time since the fifth week (No. 18) of the 2014 season that the Cougars have been included in any Top 25 rankings in the season. BYU dropped out of the rankings last year after losing to Utah State in week six of play.
