News has come out today that the University of Utah baseball team has committed an NCAA violation. Since this is still a breaking story, it is not yet clear if the violation is small or large.
Long story short, a parent complained to the school about student welfare. The Utes looked into it and hired outside counsel. They found there was an NCAA violation, but athletic director Dr. Chris Hill has not disclosed if it is a big violation or small one. He did say they notified the NCAA about the violation. Dr. Hill and the staff came up with recommendations on penalties for the violation.
