SALT LAKE CITY — Utah had two major goals on Saturday afternoon on the Palouse in Pullman: No. 1: get a win in Pac 12 play, and No. 2: find some semblance of offense production and identity.
For three quarters it looked like both goals were well within sight: Utah led 24-21 heading into the fourth quarter. But then the offense got stagnant and the win got away on an 89-yard touchdown pass by Washington State with just over four minutes to play in the game.
Utah wasn't able to answer, fell 28-24 to the Cougars, and dropped to 0-2 in Pac 12 play.
