SURPRISE, Ariz. – A two-run home run from AJ Young highlighted Utah baseball’s 9-3 loss to Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
The Utes struggled at the plate most of the game. Hunter Simmons got Utah’s first hit of the day in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Utes would have three hits, which included an RBI double off the bat of Kellen Marruffo. Utah also had eight base runners on walks.
Minnesota led 9-0 before a late rally put three runs on the board in the ninth. Cole Taylor led off the inning with a walk.
