PULLMAN, Wash. - The Utah baseball team pulled ahead in the fifth inning and didn't look back as the Utes defeated Washington State, 11-5 on Sunday evening.
DaShawn Keirsey's two-RBI single in the fifth inning broke a 4-4 tie and gave Utah a 6-4 lead. Although WSU scored a run in the sixth to pull back within a run, Utah added insurance runs in the seventh eighth and ninth innings to pull ahead for the win.
Dallas Carroll and Hunter Simmons each went 3-for-4 on the day at the plate. Cody Scaggari drove in three runs on two hits while Keirsey drove in two runs and also had two hits.
