SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Utah baseball team hit four home runs as the Utes defeated Kansas, 15-1, to open the Pac-12/Big 12 Challenge on Friday evening in Surprise, Ariz.
The Utes scored three runs in the first inning and two runs in the second, taking a 5-0 lead before Kansas got on the board in the third. With the Utes leading 7-2, Utah took control of the game with a six-run seventh inning and added two insurance runs in the eighth.
The Utes had 17 hits on the night, led by a 4-for-5 performance from DaShawn Keirsey, Jr.
