Baseball. Utah Baseball Falls to Oregon State, 10-2, Closing Out Surprise Tournament

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Utah baseball team fell to Oregon State, 10-2, in a non-conference game to close out the first Surprise Tournament of the season.

Utah was led at the plate by a 2-for-4 performance from Andre Jackson while Cody Scaggari drove in both of the Utes runs on the day.

Josh Lapiana made his first career start, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings with five strikeouts. Hunter Rodriguez allowed five runs on three hits with two walks. Nolan Stouder (1 2/3 innings, two strikeouts), Trenton Stoltz (one inning, one strikeout) and Tanner Thomas (one inning, two strikeouts, one run allowed) all made appearances in relief.
