Baseball. Utah Baseball Falls in Series Finale to UCLA, 10-3

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah baseball team dropped game three of its series against UCLA with a 10-3 loss on Sunday evening.

UCLA jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and the Utes trailed 5-3 through eight innings before the Bruins broke the game open with a five-run ninth.

Hunter Simmons went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Utah at the plate. Cody Scaggari had an RBI and scored a run.

Utah remains tied for the Pac-12 lead with Washington with an 11-7 conference record.

Josh Lapiana earned the loss on the mound, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts and four walks.
