EUGENE, Ore. - Behind strong pitching from Jayson Rose and Dylan Drachler, the Utah baseball team defeated 19th-ranked Oregon, 4-1, on Friday evening to open a three-game series against the Ducks.
Rose pitched 6 2/3 innings, striking out nine. He allowed one run on three hits with four walks and raises his record to 2-2 with the win. Dylan Drachler picked up his second save of the season after throwing the final 2 1/3 innings. He didn't allow a hit and struck out four.
Dallas Carroll led Utah at the plate, hitting a triple and driving in a run.
