Baseball. Utah Baseball Can’t Hold Early Lead, Falls to Stanford, 4-2

SALT LAKE CITY – Despite an early lead, the Utah baseball team fell to Stanford, 4-2, to even the series at 1-1.

Utah took a 2-0 lead in the first inning but Stanford scored runs in the third and fifth to tie it before taking the lead with a two-run sixth.

Utah was led at the plate by Dallas Carroll and Kellen Marruffo, who had two hits each. Marruffo also drove in a run.

Dalton Carroll threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts in the loss.
