Baseball. Marruffo Homers as Utah Baseball Falls to Utah Valley, 10-4

OREM, Utah – The Utah baseball team fell to Utah Valley, 10-4 on Thursday evening.

Utah (10-15) led 4-1 through the top of the fifth and Utah Valley took the lead and pulled ahead with a two-run fifth, three-run sixth and four-run seventh inning.

Utah was led at the plate by Kellen Marruffo, who hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and drove in three of Utah’s four runs on the night. Josh Rose was 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Utes used six pitchers. Tanner Thomas got the start and threw 3 2/3 innings, allowing an unearned run with four strikeouts.
