EUGENE, Ore. - Josh Lapiana pitched his first career shutout as the Utah baseball team won the series over #19 Oregon with a 2-0 win on Sunday evening.
Lapiana had five strikeouts in the complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits and walking one. He earned his first win of the season. Only one runner reached second base, and that was following an error.
Utah took a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning. Kody Davis led off the game with a walk and after moving to second on a ground out, scored with an RBI single up the middle from Dallas Carroll.
