SALT LAKE CITY — Utah defensive back Julian Blackmon had a pretty good day Friday during the Utes’ first scrimmage of spring camp.
The rising sophomore pulled down an interception during an opening scrimmage that occasionally stagnated on offense. But Blackmon proved that he belongs on the field on defense after the 6-foot-1, 180-pound defensive back was the team’s starting kick returner in 2016, and made two tackles in nine games mostly as a reserve as a freshman.
