A woman died and a teen was injured in an overnight shooting in West Valley City, according to police. A suspect is in custody.
Just before midnight Saturday, officers responded to a call from a clerk at the Holiday Oil, 3086 S. 2700 West, who reported that a 15-year-old boy entered the gas station with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, according to Roxeanne Vainuku, public information officer for West Valley police. While interviewing the teen, a vehicle stopped at the light at 2700 W. 3100 South. When additional incoming officers approached the car, they discovered a 34-year-old woman in the back seat with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
