Valley rain and mountain snow beginning Thursday night could affect the Friday morning commute in northern Utah, according to the National Weather Service.
The precipitation is expected to begin in northern Utah on Thursday and will spread south throughout the day Friday, the NWS says.
The precipitation will taper off Friday night, according to the NWS. Areas in northern Utah with altitudes higher than 4,500 feet should expect snow accumulation of up to a foot Friday morning.

The NWS warns that the fresh powder could impact travel routes through the mountains, especially during the Friday morning commute through Parley’s Canyon.
