Utah’s Kyler Dunkle endures a tough final round of the NCAA Golf Championships

Dunkle closed the NCAA Men's Golf Championships with a 79, fading to a tie for 28th place in the 156-player field at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. Dunkle's 77-79 finish was disappointing, after he had opened the tournament with a 69-71 showing that left him tied for fourth. Even so, the top-30 finish was an achievement for a Ute program that had not sent a contestant to nationals in 13 years.

Dunkle struggled on the par-5 holes Monday, with three bogeys and a par, after starting the day in a tie for 11th.

The runner-up in the 2018 State Amateur and in the 2019 Pac-12 tournament, Dunkle has completed his amateur golf career.
