CHANDLER, Ariz. — Utah State junior golfer Hayden Eckert carded a final round of 1-under-par 71 to finish tied for 43rd place at 2-over 218 (74-73-71) at the Wyoming-hosted Cowboy Classic held here at the par-72, 7,218-yard Cattail Course at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass.
Utah State finished in 18th place in the 20-team field at 26-over 890 (293-299-298). UCLA won the team championship with a 23-under 841 (275-283-283), while the Bruins’ Cole Madey (69-67-67) took medalist honors defeating Wyoming’s John Murdock (69-67-67) in a playoff as both players shot 13-under 203 over 72 holes.
